You can find me as a guest on various podcasts, I am involved in the local Wilmington community, and I have participated on many panel discussions about history and racial justice. My Patreon community online enjoys tons of history, antiracism, and conflict resolution content from me throughout the month, including a book club.

One of my favorite James Baldwin quotes is, "I am what time, circumstance, history have made of me, certainly, but I am, also, much more than that. So are we all." These words continue to be a reminder and a guide for me as I live out what I knows is my divinely driven purpose.

Lettie Gore

Lettie is a historian, racial justice educator, and facilitator living in Wilmington, NC. She is also the host and owner of her podcast “History Shows Us”. Her passion for telling history’s truths and connecting the past to today’s racial and social justice issues is evident in the work I do.

She received her Masters in History in 2015 from UNCW, focusing primarily on American history and specializing in African-American and race studies, contributing enormously to her work as a historian today. In May 2020 I  completed my Masters in Conflict Management & Resolution, also at UNCW. This MA equipped me with knowledge and skills to assess, respond to, and manage a broad spectrum of conflicts in different settings, and effectively mediate, facilitate, and communicate.

Through her business Lettie’s History Education and Consulting Services, Inc., I provide various learning opportunities. Using a unique approach, I combine my extensive history and antiracism knowledge with my conflict resolution skills to have necessary racial justice conversations with truth and compassion to help you find tangible tools to create personal and collective transformation. I help aspiring and active change makers take aligned and sustained action for racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion so Black people and those in other marginalized communities can experience true justice.
